1998 Expy EB,
Yesterday the radio stopped working, I checked all fuses and all check good.
It has a stock radio in it now but it had a kenwood system in it before I owned it and a lot of wires have been cut/spliced/scotch locked.
I believe in the stock plug the white wire with black stripe is supposed to have power to it at all times to keep presets, and clock functioning. it has no power at all,
If I run a jumper wire from the battery to this wire the radio runs fine.
Is there a fuseable link somewhere that could be the problem?
I really don't want to have to trace this wire out, because I would have to remove the dash.
Also this morning when we went to head to the lake with it it wouldn't start.(no crank)
the lights on the dash change like they are supposed to when in the crank position so I know it isn't the ignition switch. I tried starting in Neutral but still nothing.
I put the ignition in the run position and jumped the solinoid and it cranked right up, I figure it is the neutral safety switch, and will check it out tomorrow
but could this be a related issue to the radio wire?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
