Hey I think if you were to paint the door trim flat black it would look bad to the bone but thats just my 2 cents

as an EX body man I too would have said "waste of time" but my life has changed and access to equipment, etc.. (money) has all changed too.. There are quite a few people who have done the "budget" paint jobs.. The real trick is prep and of course application. rattle cans are not suited for large area's and its tough to get an even non tiger strip looking coat.. Flat can help (shiney is much harder.. hence you see alot of flat black). If you google a ibt there is a guy who used outdoor HOUSE paint, sprayed it on and took his car to a few car shows (and won).. PAINT is PAINT.. of course car paint is much harder and resistive to the elements and .. costs a bucketload becuase of it. The most common "budget" paint is the brush on (yes with brushs) if done right and then buffed out it can actually look real good.. you sacrfice money for elbow grease.. as those jobs need tons of sanding and buffing to look good. I myslef tried some bursh on paint on a HOOD to test hwo good it could be.. and suprisingly with enouhg (let me say that again, TONS of work) work it can look really good.. now how long it will last in the sun, etc.. without ffading and looking crap? no idea.

As for the olive green, I think it looks pretty dang good My expy has a tiny bit of rust at bottom (only surface) and i been thinking of sanding it and using rockchip/bedliner for the bottom, rockers etc.. your work just inspires me to do it.. great job.. in a couple years if you still have hte expy and the time.. follow up here with a few pics. I would be interested to see how it held up.. if my expy does the same (holds up).

Thanks everyone! I tried something today haha, I painted my rims camo! I'll leave them for a couple days and if I don't like them spray them back to black:)587fd964.jpg

I know it's different, especially where I live but I like it! I think I do scare a lot of people here in the oc. I was born in the wrong state but raised the right way:) I use my truck to get outdoors and to my secret fishing holes:) I think 90% of my closet is camo!

Haha went offroading 2 days ago with a jeep, ended up pulling him out when he got stuck and then had to jump him a few times. Looks like we might be going out to the canyon again tomorrow so we will see. I found it a little funny because he was giving me a hard time telling me that my car sucked offroad and would never be able to do what his jeep could. Now don't get me wrong I LOVE jeeps, used to have an 87 yj but it sure was nice when he was up to his door jams stuck in mud begging for a tow rope to be tossed to him

I would lose the camo and go back to black. Just looks like rusty green rims to me. Black looked so badass with the rest of the truck.
