I found a great deal on some terra grapplers I'm just really scared to pull the trigger on them due to the size.

They are 325/65/18's

(34.6/12.8/18)

I just don't want to get them and have them not fit because then I'm fu****!

they will fit. only thing you have to be worryed about is when your flexing. youll have rubbing. but thats easily fixed with a grinder. or just remove your inner fender wells.

go big or go home...lol... but be careful since 315s fit on stock rim with whatever back spacing they have... don't know about your current rim width and backspacing compared to stockers... might wanna check with Thermo

Thanks,

Not positive about backspacing, but they are 18x9's.

thats what you have to be careful about... if rims are too far out or in could cause problem with going with 315s.... but worse comes to worse could always do a little body mods to fit the tires if they are too good of a deal

How should I find out my backspacing? It doesn't specify on the Discont Tire's website where I bought them.

You should be able to find backspacing on Discount if the wheel hasnt been discontinued.

Could Google it also!

just call them and they will tell you. When I bought my tires and wheels from big-o I just asked them about it and they were more than happy to explain it for me.

I will try contacting them tomorrow afternoon.

So how much backspacing do you guys think I would need to have to fit the 325/65's?

whats the limit? 4.5". i dont remember. thermo would know.
but to measure it take off your wheels. put a ruler or something long and flat on the back side of the rim. then take a ruler and measure from the back of the lug holes to the top. that will tell you.

NC-Expy, it is going to be close. For normal driving, you shouldn't have any issues. But, like was mentioned, under full flex (which is what I base everything on), you may have a little bit of rubbing in 2 places. The more obvious one is on the inside back edge of the front wheel wells. That is the first place (after trimming the valance) that if you are going to have rubbing, will be there. I know an easy mod to remove this problem and is only about a $5 mod to do. The big question is whether you are willing to apply a 3 pound hammer to the body of the truck. The other place I see you having a problem (due to the width of your rims is the top edge of the rear wheel wells. Due to running 18x9 rims, your tires are going to stick out about a half inch more than someone running 18x8 rims. In the case of my 37x12.5's on 8" rims, my tires just barely tuck under the body for clearance (I can't fit my finger between the body and the tire-got pictures to show).

Now, the easy fix to all of this is a 3" body lift. THen you are golden all the way around. If you don't plan on twisting the truck up, then you are good too. But, if you plan on taking it out 4x4ing, other work is going to be needed.

As for backspacing, you can determine it yourself. All you have to do is to pull a wheel off and put it face down on the ground. Now, using a straight edge, run it from the metal part of the rim where it meets the tire to the exact opposite side of the rim. Now, using a ruler, measure straight down from the bottom edge of the straight edge to the back side of the rim (where the studs go through). This is your backspacing. It should be either 4.5" or 4.75". In your case, 4.75 is going to be better for you as it will help tuck the tires a little bit and ease your chances for tire rubbing.

instead of taking a hammer to it just buy some fiberglass fenders. no need for some huge bulge. just some 4" flared fenders. itll look good too. and then you can fit those 35s no problem.

Panda, the issue is the joint where the firewall meets up with the corner of the passenger compartment. This protrudes into the wheel well area some. By bending that lip back some, you create a lot more room. that is what allows me to run my 37's with only a 4" lift. Granted, the tires are still only clearing that part by less than 1/4".
