whos had theres go on them? my friend with his '98 has been through 2 sets at 150k.

i just lost my left one the other day..soaked the brakes and everything..ugh so i just dropped it off tonight to have both sides replaced. i've only got 86k:flamingdevil:

Yours completely broke? Damn. That has me worried now. Mine leak ever so slightly.

started puking all over...filled the inside of wheel with gear oil, brakes..ect stunk like crazy. weird how it just happened like that since it was dry a few days ago.

That is really strange it would just blow out like that. I wonder what caused it.

I work on school buses, most of our rear seals leak due to dirt and/or plugged vents. I'd suggest checking both on a semi regular basis if your going off road.

99.9% on road, and i did check the vents.

just got her back today. both rear seals done and had the brake fluid flushed. gotta clean up the wheel that got gear oil all over it otherwise i'm a happy camper again.

when you do them check the axles for grooves from riding on the seal. Sometimes you can find a repair sleeve or leave the seal 1/16 of an inch out to ride on new metal.

Also worn outer bearings can cause axle seal failure. Check the bearing surface on the axle for pitting.
