I sure hope someone can figure out how to get the "active guidelines" to work on our 2015-17 trucks. I'm looking at a 2016 now and I'd sure love to have this feature! We have it on our 2016 Explorer and it's very helpful. :)
Unfortunately it cannot be done. It requires active park assist, which isn't available on our 2015-2017 trucks.

Perhaps. But, like I said earlier, one person on an Explorer forum found an SUV (a Limited) that had it without Active Park Assist. As long as the steering angle input is available, the possibility at least exists. Here's hoping!

I was just looking into this myself. I noticed the 13-14 Explorer have the dynamic lines and some of the most recent Escapes (17-19) have the dynamic lines also. I looked into the BCM asbuilt or direct configuration rather since i was using UCDS. And what jumped at me was the Steering Angle Sensor, as you allured to earlier in this thread. On the 2018 Escape I looked at the SAS and it was set to "available" vs the 15-17 Ford Expedition's set to "Not Available" as a default.

I gotta look a little more into it to see what kind of signal the SAS is generating and how the camera is reading that signal (or message) whether it be through the CAN or LIN Network.

I'm no expert but I have NOT come across any Ford where the backup camera Dynamic Lines were dependent solely on whether or not the vehicle came equipped with APA. Sounds a little absurd to me.

*** UPDATE ***

I changed the asbuilt on the BCM with Forscan and was able to activate the Dynamic Guidelines on the camera. But there's a Catch 22, I noticed that it only works after the truck has been driven for a mile or so. I don't know what's that all about but I'm rolling with it (Pun Intended :p) ???

The Forscan change I made was at the BCM 726-36-01 ... I went from 41xx-xxxx-xx to 61xx-xxxx-xx

Anyhow, I thought I'd share with the community.

Please let us know when you figure out why the delay happens.

My first suspicion is the basic PSCM firmware Ford installed on the 15-17 Expedition. I compared it to the Edge, Flex, Explorer and Taurus, all the CGEA 1.2 vehicles that share the same BCM we have, and all of them have a PSCM with more programming options than us.

Their PSCM holds a setting for "RVC Active Guidelines "
