Can someone chime in on this please? I have a 98 Eddie B Expedition and the rear seems to ride very stiff. Almost like the rear air bags are over inflated. Would a faulty ride height sensor cause this? The rear of the vehicle is higher than the front and other Expeditions I have seen seem to ride pretty level.

Thanks!

That would do it.

It's not hard to adjust it.

Replaced the rear sensor in my 05 about 6mos ago but been wanting to lower truck a couple inches, the little connecting rod is not adjustable, what other way is there?

Well, I had an idea. I used to work in an armored truck and they ALWAYS rode rough when empty. I decided to put a little weight in the rear just over the rear axle. I put 2 70lb sand tubes in there and the Expy seems to ride a bit smoother. When I bought it in Dec. it had no spare. Granted, they aren't that heavy, but my thinking is that the suspension is calibrated with all equipment on board.

I just hope that I don't take a hit in gas mileage hauling 140 extra lbs around.

It will be very unnoticeable. I have driven with nothing in the back, and I have driven with at least 300 lbs of crap in the back, and still get about 12mpg's. Are the shocks original or aftermarket? If aftermarket, can you tell the brand?

I'd have to take a look. Maybe I will tomorrow. I'll get back to you with that info.

Nothing crucial. Just curious because some brands ride harder than others. Also if the previous owner put in load assisting shocks (have coil springs around the bodies) that would do it too.
