Hey guys,
My factory arm is sagging down off the glass. I wasn't able to get it off to replace or realign. Was afraid to break the glass. If it is wedged on should I try a gear puller or something?
Thanks,
CV
Spray the shaft with some WD-40 let it sit for a little bit.
Take a painters tool, A putty knife is too thin and flexible, slide between the arm base and the plastic area around the shaft area and wiggle it.
The arm will pop off and be pretty loud.

I tried a putty knife but it flexed too much to get it to pop.

2014EL
Ordered the AUTOBOO arm & blade for $16.66 (no tax or shipping) from the Evil Amazon
Needed arm because the "nut cover" had vanished & where the blade clips in … was broken
Just got it (order Saturday), took old one off with battery terminal puller & 1/2" wrench
Put new one on with a dab of blue Loctite … tightened it until I felt it was really tight
New "nut cover" snapped right on. Quality is great!
Easy Peasy

6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other …. (ie sort of the same thing)Why go with OEM style and not a real arm like the doorman that can run any wiper blade?

no big deal either way, either solution works just fine
the retrofit with a traditional blade mount is a nice idea though
i'm not against it or anything like that
going OEM design was cheaper …. $16 vs $27 ($11 available to buy BEER)
and I can just order the oem part in the future when I need a blade
auto parts shops carry the Trico 16-J for $12 or so
and it wont confuse any repair shop when i'm old and take it in for service (3 years from now)
when my Expy is a 50 year old Classic Truck
it will be 100% stock ... leading to higher sell price on Barrett-Jackson
this oem design will probably break and i'll tire of it and do the retrofit in a couple years!
I've never had any issues with rear wiper function. To each his own. The OEM design is terrible. So the Doorman was a no brainer. Not to mention being able to run a good aftermarket wiper. Cost was not factored in for me. Better function is always what I am looking for.
