I found this video yesterday and was wondering if anyone here has tried this? I’ve heard that ford only put the metal block on 4x4 version and on the 2wd versions, the blocks are absent.

Expeditions have independent suspension, however, that is correct that the 4wd version have 2” rear blocks. Apparently some 2WD do have them. Not sure what package that would be

A cheap way to level the distance measured from the ground to the top of the wheel well. The measurement is taller in the rear.

I would much rather go up in the front, not down in the rear.

This thread is a perfect example of why I buy new vehicles, not used...I’d never think to check for stuff like that on a used vehicle. Who KNOWS what little “improvements” the previous owner made?

Not a criticism at all! If you bought the vehicle, absolutely do with it what you will. But imma stick with buying these things configured the way the designers intended (well, after the accountants got done with the designers’ original plan, of course).

I feel you and if thats what makes you comfortable then go with it. I only offer that if you are on this forum and researching things then you probably are more observant than you are giving yourself credit for.

I will absolutely never buy a new vehicle. If you do your homework, shop around, and are patient you will save around half on the price of a new vehicle. I bought my first expedition an ‘03 in ‘12 for $5000 cash. It had 140k miles on it and was one owner and very well maintained. I drove that for 7 years and 150k+ miles and just recently sold it for $2500.

Our newest Expy is a ‘15 King Ranch that we bought in ‘19 for $30k out the door with 65k miles on it. I think the sticker price was about $62k. It was one owner and looked brand new. We passed on several others that were cheaper, or even some that had less miles that were a little more “used” on the interior. Again, I’m not judging how you spend your money, and if having a NEW vehicle is worth that money then more power to you. There’s noting wrong with it at all. Just like to get information out there that if you are patient and do your homework you can save tons of money.
