It's time to do some clean up on my Expy. The Canadian Winters and wind and rain storms have been hell on my stripes.

I started taking them off with my wife's trusty hairdryer and some tar remover, with the intent to redo them and I think I like it better without the large vinyl stripes. Looks cleaner and bigger.

I'll just redo the 'Expedition' lettering to cover up the old Hi-Way Service decal that is forever faded into my paint. That's the reasons for the stripes in the first place, but I think I'll probably leave of the tan stripe that ran the whole lenghth before.

Let this be a lesson to all you business people out there. PUT YOUR LOGO's ON THE WINDOW, NOT THE BODY of the truck. It leaves a faded design for the rest of your poor truck's life.

Just some pics. You can see how bad they are starting to peel. But it looks pretty sharp where I started to take them off.

I kind off mis -stated that. It's the truck that has faded. Where the decals were is as dark and fresh as the day it rolled out of the factory. But yeah, I'll try buffing it again a bit. Or even see if I can get it professionally done. The paint shop figured it wouldn't help that's why I ended up doing the decals to cover the decals in the first place. just used cheap striping I guess.
If I redo, I'm gonna use the thick matt black vinyl. Not pinstriping material. I did it on my car. I did the deck lid, and some stripes on the side. It's like a rock chip guard, but if you cut it right, it looks kinda cool.

the front bumper actually looks very nice. did you prime the trim before painting or not. also is there some sort of guide to remove trim pieces? i hope i'm not being a pest asking so many questions lol. the tan is just a very ugly color on the expy to me.

my stock tan bumper cover was thrashed, so i bought a new one off ebay for $50 that was already primed... i just sanded it down and hit with the paint

the main reason is because my kids like them... thats the same reason the lights in my running boards are red and that scooby doo is on the rear side glass
