Hi,

I replaced the motor in my 05 expedition' the timing chain guide broke and got sucked up into the oil pan pick up tube. When I got it all back together, the engine turns over but won't start ( it will for moments with starting fluid).

I have fuel pressure on the fuel line....

I did not replace the VCT sensors, would they not allow it to start?

I have rechecked the wire harness connections and all appear good, it's keyed anyway. I can not get any error codes because the engine won't start.

Any ideas?

Since it appears that it has spark, I guess the first thing I would do is to check that the injectors are firing. They make little test lights for this (noids)

even if the engine doesn't start you should be able to read any codes that are present I have two code readers and they only require that the key be in the on position to read codes One of my readers will also read with the engine running am sending you a PM
