Replacing my Ex grille with one from an F150?

I'm sure it's been covered but searching didn't come up with anything.

What I'm looking to do is replace the inner portion of my '04 Ex's grille with an aftermarket one that fits an F150 (those that have the two huge light openings in them).

I know that the F150 grille system is hooked into the hood unlike our grilles but I'm just referring to the inner part. Like something a little time, sanding and homemade brackets could cure.

Has anyone done a swap? Is there too much of a size difference?

It appears they are the same size. But I haven't done it. I really want to try and do it.

I started a thread and no one had ever tried.

Thanks for the response. Looks like i may have to just jump in and do it... assuming my wife says its okay, haha.

I'll post about it if i do it... it probably won't be this month though.
