I am looking at replacing my 2000 Explorer with an Expedition. I have not driven one yet but I have driven my father in laws 2010 F150 4x4 supercrew. Can someone tell me if the Expy ride is just as smooth and quiet as the F150? Any input would be helpful.

I would probably say yes. New expy's have IRS which really helps in the ride department. I have not ridden in a 3rd gen, but my dad's 04 is a much nicer ride than my 97 comfort wise.

A lot of variables to consider even though they may share some similar items IMHO:
Weight
Tires/rims
Wheelbase
Suspension system
Air ride seats
etc.

I tried ruining the ride of my 08 with a lift and tires...still rides better than most of the pickups I've been in. You'll be happy, very comfortable ride.

My '11 Expedition EL is AWESOME. Just got back from a straight 15 hour trip and felt pretty good. I believe the length had something to do with it as well as the newer suspension in the Gen3. I've had 4 hour drives in other vehicles where I was worn out after.
