Has anyone tried to fill the concave channels on the roof to prevent standing water and eventual rust?

I did, I filled in the one directly above the overhead console. Mine was rusted out and leaking. I ground out as much rusted metal as I could, used a mesh that's used in construction, then filled in with bondo. I repainted with the spray can estate green color, and it doesn't leak. Filling in all of them would require painting the whole roof. A little pricey, but if you have your own paint sprayers, about $250.00 in paint. Base coat, clear coat, primer, sand paper. If you keep your roof waxed at least twice a year, the possibility of rust is greatly diminished.

I have some rust begining under the molding running the length of the truck. It looks to be surface rust only, I wire wheeled it and spray with rust converter. The truck will have a roof basket so for additional protection/prevention I will be using roll on bed liner.

Question - Is that molding glued? Whats under it? Should I just remove and bed liner it?IMG_2634.JPG IMG_2634.JPG IMG_2635.JPG

Couldn't tell you about the moulding, I just filled in the divit above the overhead console with the 2 flip down sunglass holders. Why not shoot over to dealer and see if either they can print that pic, or the guys in the body shop could tell you!
