They are saturated with penetrating oil but that didn't help. When I bought it a month ago they were fine.

You may have bent the supports under there or some bolts have have become brokenNothing to see but I will get some.
No because it is super clean under there and well lubricated and like I said; they were fine a month ago when I bought it and it hasn't been off road at all.You may have bent the supports under there or some bolts have have become broken
They dont just gap 1” on there own. Do you use them to stand on ever? Like to get stuff on or off your roof rack?No because it is super clean under there and well lubricated and like I said; they were fine a month ago when I bought it and it hasn't been off road at all.
No play at all anywhere and they went all the way up a month ago.Well they are gapped equally at least so if your ruling out normal use as the culprit then maybe the support arms are starting to sag a little. Is there any play up and down in them when they are closed, like do they wiggle?
Thanks, after it quits snowing I am going to give them the deluxe lube treatment I mentioned elsewhere in this forum.Depending on how well you lubricated them, the internals can become gunked up causing the boards not to retract all the way in
