I do a lot of launching of PWCs with our Expy and the repeated dunking of the rear brakes in the water (some times saltwater) has caused the emergency brakes to become very rusty. I have a fairly long tongue on my trailer and I try to only go as deep as I need to but on some launch ramps you have no choice.

I try to rinse down the underside of the vehicle and spray the brake area with the Salt-a-Way that I use on the skis after being in saltwater but this doesn't seem to help much.

Does anybody else have this problem or have a solution? I don't see a solution other than cleaning or replacing the components periodicaly.

I wish I could get stainless steel brake components for the rear.

how far are you having to go into the lake i mean i launch alot of boats and my back tire almost never go in the water but if the do the rubber is as fas in the water as they go but as for your question i would say take your tires off have the rear of the truck on jack stangs and get a few cans of brake parts cleaner and clean everything up and then get some waterproof or water replent oil and spray all the working parts of the sytem and if you have to take a wire brush to the parts and repaint them then oil everything and after you get it all put back togethert and you got alittle oil on the rotors just use brack parts cleaner to get it all off thats what i would try
