As many issues as I've had since February I’m worried to death one is going to go off with my wife or two small kids in the car..
From what I understand, the warning light will come on 4 to 7 weeks before the possible deployment.

Ford of Canada is also participating in Safety Recall 24S06, where 2,479 vehicles are affected...

It just became active, as serviceable, yesterday 6/24/2024.
Update:
I dropped my vehicle off this morning. I'm not sure how long it is going to take, as they have to determine and order parts. They may have to replace the entire driver's side that was fixed last July, when mine exploded. So, they have to pull the driver's side apart to check parts dates.
I'm hoping I get mine back or at least a loaner this week. Fingers crossed.

FYI:
I picked my vehicle up today and all is fixed. They did not have to redo the driver's side as the parts were new. They completely rebuilt the passenger side, so I'm hoping I'm done worrying about the seat belt tensioners exploding any time soon.
They also added the infamous rubber A/C drain elbow, as it was determined that water may have been dripping onto harnesses, causing corrosion, resulting in the shorting of the device.
They performed a free complete inspection of the vehicle and I got a 100% good bill of health, so I'm happy.

Ford has expanded the population of vehicles requiring inspection and potential component replacement.

For more information, please see...

Safety Recall 25S31 - Certain 2018-2020 Expedition/Navigator - Front Seatbelt Retractor Date Code Inspection

Any one of the 12 explosive devices could have the same issue.
Slow Motion Seatbelt Explosion
In late 2023 or early 2024, my driver's side seatbelt tensioner exploded. I thought I was shot.
I took my Ex to my dealership and I also reported it to Ford. They replaced my driver side complete assembly, before the recall for free.
I then reported it to NHTSA. They investigated and created the recall, which came out, at the beginning of 2024. Ford then replaced my passenger side as well as all modules, sensors and wiring, associated with the tensioner circuit. They blamed it on the A/C drain leaking back into the vehicle, causing water to corrode the parts, which resulted in a short circuit. As a result, the recall also made Ford install the right-angle rubber drain piece, to keep water from seeping in again.
So far so good. But it still lingers in the back of my head, as it is very scary when an explosion occurs.
I don't wish this on anyone.
So, if you own a model mentioned in the recall, I urge you to follow through, before it happens to you. If it does happen the seatbelt locks tight, where you cannot wear it, making the vehicle undriveable unless you drive without a seatbelt.

While the above-mentioned Safety Recall 25S31 remains an Advance Notice, Ford is issuing Supplement #1 for Safety Recall 24S06, which provides an expanded list of potentially-suspect component Date Codes, which in some cases may require some past-inspected vehicles to need re-inspection with these owners receiving an additional notification letter...

My driver's side was replaced when my pretensioner exploded before the recall.
I reported the incident after the repair was done and Ford implemented the 1st recall. They then replaced my passenger side, after I received the warning light. This was after I received the recall, but had to wait for parts. They determined the AC drain hose that was missing was the problem. Water leaked into the vehicle causing connections to get wet and corroded. The recall also called for the hose to be installed.
Now I see this new recall. My vehicle is at Ford today, for the recall for the Catalytic converter module update programming. I asked them about this recall, and they said I would have to make another appointment, because there's a chance the parts used to replace the driver's side have been updated.

How loud is the explosion and is there any shrapnel? This is scary. Im trying to not drive my expy as much as possible. Thankfully I have 3 other vehicle options to drive

My incident was long before any recall. It was as loud as a shotgun 2 feet away from you. There was no shrapnel or debris whatsoever. There was a sulfur like smell. It definitely scared the heck out of me and my wife. And because the sound pressure level was high and the fact that the seatbelt retracted very tight, I thought I was shot in the chest. I really thought it was a gunshot, so I called the police to make a report. At least I was stationary, parked at a traffic light.
The warning light came on weeks before it decided to ignite. So, you have some warning. The warning light came on months later for the passenger side and there was already a recall. It got done before it ignited. I still think about it when driving. The Expedition has 12 of these explosive devices for all the air bags and belt tensioners. But it's true for every newer make and model vehicle, as they all have them. I'm just glad I was stationary. I can't imagine my reaction at 70mph on the highway.
