Wow. Don't demonstrate or deliver, but parts won't be available until 1Q 2025.

When my 2015 Expedition Limited 4x4 was recalled for a potential fire in the front HVAC motor, it took more than one-year for the part to arrive at the Ford dealer.

"Engine cup plug" == freeze plug?

Since the recall states the engine cup plug could leak and cause a rapid oil leak (not engine coolant), I’d bet it is a different item.

I may be wrong?

Probably a cup-shaped plug that goes in the block where an oil gallery is drilled through.

I believe the Cup Plug is a plug used to seal an opening during casting to prevent sand from entering the engine block.

Ford Canada issued a recall for four 2024 models, warning of issues on vehicles with 3.5-litre turbo engines that can increase the risk of a crash or fire.

“The rear engine cup plug may not have been installed properly,” the company said in a recall posted by Transport Canada last week. “As a result, engine oil could leak and cause a loss of power to the wheels.”

This loss of power could increase the risk of crash, the notice warned. Additionally, the oil leak could lead to fire or create other hazards.

The recall applies to the F-150 (police interceptor truck), Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator.

Ford said owners will be notified by mail, and will be told to take their vehicle to a dealership for inspection or replacement if needed. This recall was initially issued in November, but updated on Dec. 23.

While the F-150 is regularly one of Canada’s most purchased vehicles, this recall is estimated to impact only about 340 trucks and SUVs.

Sounds like it is the High Output version? Or is this for the regular 3.5L as well?
