When you slide the male end into the female end, it allows a signal to be grounded. What you need to do is identify the signal wire and ground it. This requires you to take apart the female end and expose the wires, so it is best to have experiance with a multi meter and a general knowledge of how it DC voltage works. Another option is to just find a male piece at a junk yard, and insert it when you do not want it chiming.

There is a way to do it by accessing the main ignition menu. I do not know the correct steps, but I do know to get to it you need to cycle the ignition on-off 6-8 times. Once in there you have to have the menu printout to cycle through all the possibilities.
