Thanks to all of you. It sounds like the concensus is to move on. I have priced out some of the repairs, $5-6 for a heater core, about $6 for the oil leak, new tires at about $8 plus, plus, plus. So it would be very easy to spend $2500 and still have a truck with 287,000 miles on it.

So, who wants to pony-up to help me buy a new one?

I love seeing stories like this knowing mine has <95K on it so I know with some proper maintenence it can run a long time.

personally I would keep it but i would have the motor rebuilt, I can see ur not one for performance and loudness but as for me if i ever need to redo my expys engine Im putting in a supercharged lightning motor and trans. but you can prolly have ur motor overhauled for like a couple grand and still have enough to get it painted. and seat covers are an easy fix for the seats. I would suggest BFG Mud Terrains for tires but being a realotor your clients will prolly whine that the ride is rough and it makes noise on the road
