So I finally got my power steering woes straightened out when my Expy shares a new problem with me.
Now when the vehicle is idling it kind of shudders once in a while.
I can feel it in the seat and when my foot is on the break.
I also noticed that if I slowly hit the gas pedal the truck will shudder up to about 1500 RPM.
Most of my time is spend in the stop and go traffic that made LA famous and it is very annoying to have to sit there and feel like you are being frappeed.
So I took it to the dealer that fixed my steering problem.
They cleaned the throttle body, changed out the plugs and all of the wiring (plugs and injector).
$500 later, the shudder is till there!
I am going back to the dealer this morning to complain because they told me it was fixed.
Now I have to go argue with a dealer who most likely will only take more money from me to fix this problem.
Anyone have a similar experience to share?

Could be the injectors, Try putting a can of Seafoam in the gas tank (0ne bottle per 1/2 tank). See how that works.

The dealer cleaned the injectors when they performed the tune-up.
In any case I brought the Expy back to the same dealer and they kept it for the whole day.
They finally called me at the end of the day and told me that they could not find what was causing the problem.
There will be a Ford Engineer on site tomorrow and they want him to look at it.
All of this sounds expensive.
By the way I took my Expy to Galpin ford out in North Hills, CA.
Apparently this is the biggest Ford dealer in all of the US.
So far they have not impressed me much. I suppose size isn't everything after all.

The most common problem with shuttering is one of the coils misfiring. That doesnt mean that is your problem but its something we run into quite often. Sometimes the boots will crack and cause a arc. Their diagnostic equipment should pick this up if it does it when they are testing. If its intermitent then its very hard to figure out. I have a co-worker that had a simular problem and he bought 1 coil and used it on each cylinder for a few days at a time until he was able to figure out which one it was. The coil packs are the coils that attach to the spark plugs. I bought one and keep it in my console. With eight of them, eventually one is going to go bad and usually its at the most inopportune time.

The dealership tells me that the plugs and coils are all good.
The Ford Engineer tells me that the engine, manifold and transmission will need to be unseated and readjusted.
First he wants to look at the engine mounts to see if one of them is grounding out.
The dealer will be covering all of the labor since they already wasted $500.00 of my money on a failed experiment.
Apparently this is common on the Expedition.

Common on who's expedition? First I have ever heard of that. And I would never buy a truck that this was a common problem on. At least they are footing the bill for you. My dealership covered the cost of my problem for me as well even though it was out of warrenty.

Well they peformed the work and it did absolutely nothing.
Where as before the truck would have an annoying slight shudder it now has a constant shudder.
When the dealership called me to come pick up my truck they told me that it was 90% better. They lied.
Now when the truck idles I can feel the car vibrating beaneath me. Even my leg feels it when it is on the brake pedal.
When the truck is rolling forward (as in at idle speed in traffic) the shudder remains. When I step on the gas with the truck in park it starts to shake more dramatically and makes a droning sound at around 1500 RPM.
On the highway it feels fine but then I am wondering if the feel of the road is masking the effect.
The tachometer twitches slightly but not enough to produce the shudder. When I place my hand on the motor I can feel the shudder but the engine is running smoothly.
The dealer wants to change out the motor mounts as a last resort.
This should be covered under my extended warrantee.
I am so frustrated.
