Hey!

Searched the forums and the Internet with no luck to this issue. Just picked up a 2006 King Ranch. Has RSE and Sirius module. Tried to activate Sirius and get ESN by pressing "1" and "6" and it just displays "Getting ESN" without ever displaying it. Pressing the "SAT" button on the head unit (Audiophile?) shows a little symbol like a ground based sat dish, then shows channel 0 and has a open circle that moves right to left.

No audio is heard during this time and there does not seem to be a way to change the channel to the Sirius demanded channel of 184.

After about a minute it comes up with "Call Sirius" and any further button pushes of the SAT button just displays "Call Sirius".

I located the Siruis radio module under the rear cupholders by the subwoofer and pulled power on it and reconnect. This allows you to go through the whole process over again, but with the same results.

I have tried "activating" the radio by calling the Manual Refresh line and once the auto attendant says they have sent the signal, then I press the SAT button to start the "scan" (or whatever it is doing with the open circle that moves) to no avail.

I talked to someone at "Listener Care" and they did all the normal BS troubleshooting that I had already done. She did send something called a "radio reset" to the radio but that did not work either.

So...now that you know all that, is there something I am missing with trying to get this radio to activate? Any tricks? Is the Visteon Sirius module by the subwoofer bad?

Thoughts? This is driving me nuts. Would like to get the Sirius working, but the controls on the Head Unit dont allow you to do much.

Thanks!
Chris

I would start by checking the antenna and antenna cable. That would be a likely culprit!

Thanks! Will do. I did make sure the antenna module was plugged in, but don't know if the wire is broken somewhere. I do have a XM radio for the airplane that I could take the antenna off and see if I can plug it in to the Visteon module.

If the module isn't sending the esn to the head unit, then there is something more than the antenna at fault.

Hey Guys!

I did some further research and testing, and the heat unit, when put in DTC mode, displays code 9033 (B1033 SDARS Service Deactivated). It appears that after a certain amount of time (6+ months) the SDARS module activation time is "expired" and will not accept the Sirius refresh commands.

Looking now to see how to get this "reset".

BTW, when running the DTC test, the antenna comes back OK.

Update...Sirius keeps saying I need a "hard reset" of the SDARS module. Anyone know how that is done?

To my knowledge pull the Fuse/Power to the unit and leave it. Usually 20+ minutes. I tend to do overnight just for over kill lol.
