What's everyone showing?

List your:

  1. Desired cruising speed
  2. Driving style(with the flow or slightly aggressive)
  3. Mode and 2a or 4a
  4. Mostly inner city, highway, or both.

For me it's

12.8mpgs

Cruise at 75-80mph

I like to get around horrible drivers

Sport mode 4a

Mostly in town.

Normal mode
2H (4A in the rain)
Cruise on the freeway at around 80mph
80% city 20% highway
I have a lead foot when it comes to passing slow drivers. (I hate slow drivers.)
Oh, and who doesn't love occasionally flooring it up a highway on-ramp?

14.6 mpg after 9000miles

So far (2200 miles) I'm only averaging 18.8 mpg. That's 70 MPH highway, about 60/40 hwy/city, 2A, normal mode, Shell 91 octane. I go with the flow. This being Colorado there are a decent number of grades I drive. My daily commute includes a 1000-foot elevation drop and gain.

However I did get 13.5 mpg towing my travel trailer, which is a lot better than I expected (<10). I only go 65 when towing it.

I hand-calculate my mileage and fill up at the exact same pump as much as I can. From what I've seen, the mpg display in the car is consistently optimistic by 0.5-1 MPG.

I agree with the on-board computer calculation being off. Although my dash calculation is about 1.3 higher than my hand calculation.

Navigator here. Last fill up was 16.02, 2a unless it’s raining and 90% around our town. Our first road trip is coming up so I’ll update with highway mpgs soon.

I’ll add that I also hand calculate with a gas mileage app. Over all mpg for the entirety of ownership (8200 miles) is 16.13 with a total spent on gas at $1,610.29.

1. +5mph over posted limit of hwy in urban areas, or +9 if on hwy in rural/remote area. Anywhere other than highway/freeway posted limit maybe a bit less, I try my best not to catch red lights

2. Go with flow, most of the time, unless the flow is clearly being impeded by inattentive drivers, then it's party on.

3. 2hi unless heavy rain/slick conditions.

4. Mixed driving.

To be honest, I've not been all too interested in the mpg because of what it is, and what it can do for my family. I filled up with some 93-10%ethanol, about a mile from my job, on the way home. Fwiw, here are pics of the tripmeter with the final pic taken when I arrived home.
Well the one that's blurry is 25.4mpg with the cc set at 65mph in a 60mph zone, apparently I was not too steady.
2nd is at traffic light after exiting hwy.
3rd is in front of house.

I understand that any vehicle's trip computer is almost always optimistic, but I don't recall OP qualifying answers from hand calculations only.

I don't think anybody is making that argument. It's good to know who is using what method for comparison purposes but that's about it.

That' impressive.

It is. At first i wasnt gettin those numbers, but after breaking it in, the numbers jumped. In town mileage stll isnt great, but i understand that. Hwy is hit or miss but get it on the right stretch with no traffic, n she sips just right. I wish they came with the same fuel tank as last gen, you could probably get over 700+ mi even with the swb.

Limited with heavy duty trailer tow, and 4 wheel drive. Mileage improved significantly after about 6,000 miles.
My mostly stop and go city driving mileage is 15.2mpg. I drive light footed.
Highway mileage, at 75 approximately 20mpg. I did get 22mpg on one trip. Driving at 55-65 mileage would increase, but I do not travel at these speeds consistently

Is it a rings not seating yet issue with mileae?

Just got back from a 750 mile road trip. 2A on the way down and 4A on the way back (it was raining). Not towing anything. Cruised at about 80 both ways, tooling around town for about 50 miles at our mid-point destination.

Dash tells me 18.8, my big chief tablet and #2 pencil tell me about 17.4.

I needed to get 17 to break even on the upgrade from my truck. I got 14.5 mpg with the Coyote 5.0 in my 2012 F150 XLT, but it was regular unleaded. So I need 17 for the extra I’m paying for premium to break even. (I don’t care one way or the other, it’s just a data point.)

Last two tanks were 22MPG and 21.4MPG with mixed driving. After filling up and driving 65MPH for ~100 miles the trip computer said 26.1MPG. It's dropped to 24MPG now with some city driving. I've gone 130 miles and the computer says 520MTE. That's in an Expy Max 4WD.

I just did a long highway drive and got 23mpg while going 70mph but it dropped to 20mpg going 80mph. This was mostly flat driving, 2A the whole time and I have the tow package.
