so i went to go price my wrangler dura tracs $1300 for size 285/70/r17.....but..... he has a set of Nitto Trail Grapplers that someone ordered then didint pay for and hes stuck with them. the nittos are size 295/70/R17 he made me an offer. we try them on my truck if they fit and dont rub i can have them for the same price as the 285 duratracs.... the nittos go for around $2000 for the size hes offering me. what you guys think of the deal and the tires?

thats a good deal. you should just take them even if they rub a little cuase you can do a TT and a spacer and they will fit better that way.

It all depends on if you want A/T's or M/T's. You can get the nittos on 4wheelparts.com for $1366. So you are only saving 66 bucks. As for the size it is only a half inch taller and wider so that shouldnt be an issue.

I dont want to do the torsion twist tho now because I dont have enough money for that lol but the tires I need like in a few months. Ive seen people fit 315s on the stock height and they only cut a small amount of the bumper off so i think 295s will fit. Pandas right the trail grapplers look badass. idc whether its all terrain or mud terrain tires. i just want the truck to look badass lol.i know 285s fit and my dad almost fit 305s on his truck so i think 295s may just make it

Im not sure how to do the torsion twist though and I dont want to **** up my suspension. im good with most mechanical stuff but suspension and transmission are not my best areas lol, that and saturn cars, i cant work on saturns for shit they are a pain in the ASS!

i agree with you on the saturn thing. had one at my hs auto shop. that thing was a pain in the ASS! haha but here you go for the TT. http://www.ehow.com/how_5100584_crank-torsion-bar.html its what i used. and since your getting new tires youll need an alignment anyways. so might as well do it at the same time. just something you could do. but yes also the GF thing... ugh! haha most my money went to her when ever i got a pay check. haha

lol yea imma look that up now. another reason i dont want to do the torsion twist is my gfs a little shorter then me and as of right now its not easy to get into my truck lmao. but idk I may do it anyways. i think mine are already cranked though. my truc sits higher then my dads 97 and sit higher then alot of 4x4 expos i see i notice it most when i in the parking lots and its all level

thats b/c ford lifted them 1/2-1 inch higher on the 99-02s. thats most likely why. but your gf is going to have a hard time getting in when you get the bigger tires too. haha. mine dosent want me to get the coil spacer or bigger tires, and i just told her i would carry a step ladder for her. haha

that answers it right there then i think. if ford made mine higher the 295s will fit with no lift because my dad nearly fit 305s on his 97, only reason he didnt get them was they were rubbing on his running boards and bfgoodrich didnt offer a 295 mud terrain. i really hope i can do the 295s with no lift because I like the look of this big tirtes and no lift at all. something about that is very appealing, I like the fenderwells to appear stuffed to the limit lol

so do i. i like the look of tires that are stuffed in the wells. its not practicle off road. but if its going to stay on the street 90% of its life idc. it still looks good. but get the tires on. if you like the look then keep it. if not then do the TT and itll raise the front a little bit. then you can always get coil spacers down the road.

same around here. people either keep them stock or drop theirs and put on 22-26" rims. there are a few exceptions though. but i say to get those tires. put them on. if they rub a bit you can always trim up those pieces. most likely the step side bar and the lower bumper part. that should be about it. if not then i bet thermo can help you out with that.

yea i already messaged thermo waiting for his response. im prolly gonna get those nittos instead of the wranglers, if i have to cut the running boards ill cut the *******. as long as I dont have to cut any sheet metal. if i have to cut sheet metal then im gonna have to go with the 285s. but i think it gonna work out good from what i seen

I dont know what size that is in inches but I paid $843 shipped for my 33/12.5/18 terra grapplers and my partner just paid $2100 installed for a set of 35/12.5/20 trail grapplers down here in Ft. Lauderdale and that was with 20" xd wheels. If your paying just 2k for tires Im not too sure about that.

whats ur guys problem with saturns i had a friend that had one and i did several roadside fixes with the most basic of hand tools i replaced her radiator on the side of the freeway in like 15 min with a pair of vise grips and a couple of screwdrivers i loved that car. plus she ended up selling it with like 350,000 miles or so and it still ran great
