Would it be possible to have softer suspension on my coil sprung 2003 Expedition? It has nearly new Bilsteins, which made the truck ride more comfortable, but I want more:)

How about lower spring rates, or springs from other trucks? Anyone tried something?

NOrexp, if you have a standard suspension Expy, you can try the springs from an air ride expy. That will soften up the ride, but will also cause it to ride a little lower too. Not sure if that is what you are after in the overall big picture of things. After that, you would be needing to look at spring rates and seeing what you can find. A check that you can do is pop a spring out of your truck and then using a ruler, start stacking weight on the spring. Add say about 200 pounds (100KG) and then measure the amount of compression you got in the spring. Then the spring rate is simply the weight added divided by the amount of compression you got. Then go about 10% less and see what you can find.

Hey Thermo and thanks for your reply:)

I live in Norway and there is just a few Expeditions here, due to tax-laws. It is therefore hard to find used parts, and air-spring setup would be impossible to find. Think it also would be lot of work to install..........?

I know Expeditions imported to Norway used higher spring rates at the rear, due to make them registrered as trucks. In that way I thought perhaps there where springs from other Fords, or other trucks that would fit.

Due to weight I also have to use LT-tires, which also makes the ride a little more harsh.

I have read that some who have changed to Eibachs, says the ride is more comfortable due to the springs being progresive. Maybe I should try Eibachs........?

NOrexp, yes, your best option would be to get something like the Eibach springs. If you can, get on say E-bay and see what it would cost to do the springs that way. Then they will ship them right to you. THen you just have to get the springs installed then. Installing the springs isn't that hard.
