do that gotts mod, or buy a volant one. A cold air intake needs cold air to work, and every brand except volant has a exposed filter that sucks allot of hot engine air. Also keep in mind that you need a custom tune to get the most out of a cold air intake. and finally 99% of the time cold air intakes are bs. we put one on my buddys rx7 and it made a couple of hp difference, but that had a really restrictive intake on it that was really long from the factory

The reason i want one is because it has a re usable filter, they ad up fast at $30+ a piece, and I drive in alot of dusty areas, so mine don't last all that long. plus I avoid spectre i bought a filter from them that claimed to be made of stainless mesh, and "super high quality fibers" and it rusted and i found a layer of dirt in my throttle body. maybe others have had luck with them, but I havnt

Im using this intake. I think it is comparable to all other intakes and half the price! I changed out the filter for the Dryflow because the oil on these filters fowls the Mas.

Adds nice sound under the hood at WOT also.

if you get a cold air intake make sure it has some sort of heat shield. k&n has one with a heat shield and that volant has an enclosed filter.

Spectre has a heat shield , and the intake works great , my friend gained 20rwhp over a dirty paper air filter on chassis dyno with one

Heat shield style Air intake < Enclosed intake W/fender intake

As you can see by this mathematical formula the enclosed intake using the fender intake is greater than the "heat shield" style intake
