Those of you who have Livernois or SCT tunes, are they giving you the option of raising the top speed limiter on your EcoBoost 3rd Gens?

I know the 1st Gen cars were limited to about 98 MPH.

Did everyone see video of the exploding 2011 Mustang driveshaft at 145? What speed explodes an Expedition driveshaft?

Like Andy, I let it run up & over the TON just for fun but I didn't press much above it....just didn't seem prudent in a nearly 3 ton truck.

BUT---boy was it smooth......!!

Speed is limited because handling on these vehicles is very limited and poor at high speeds. There is plenty of videos on YouTube on stock top runs on ford full size vehicles they stop at 105. Is your vehicle already tuned muddybean? It would be odd that the expedition would have a higher governed speed than the F-150.

My X4 lets you adjust the speed limiter in various ways. Mine is off entirely, and you can certainly go beyond 115.

Bone stock and I hit 110 before accidentally and felt like it had more to go. Aerodynamics is prob the limiting factor on the f150's, so I can see their cut of being sooner than ours.

Well Muddy posted some definitive proof his is topping out at 114 lol. I was wondering if his is tuned or altered in any way. The aerodynamics makes some sense but still, we are basically refrigerators flying down the highway.

In my case I was passing someone, and before I knew it I was at the century mark. I backed it down pretty quickly mainly because I didn't want to attract any undue attention from the authorities. :D

It was very smooth and I could have driven at that speed with no problem it it was legal to do so.
