Is pretty crappy I have to say. I am not enjoying it. I went down from 22s to 20s for my winter and still the ride is fairly harsh. My 24s this summer are going to be fun!

My previous '20 Limited was far too soft and squishy and now I feel my 304a is too far the opposite.

Does anyone ACTUALLY know what this suspension consists of?

Does yours have ccd or base setup? Sounds like your 20 had the ccd and your 22 does not. You probably just need to change the shocks and springs to the setup used for xlt trims.

It really shouldn't be that different then a base setup. Do you have CCD on your Stealth?

Positive I had the truck built with CCD after liking it on my previous '20 and hoping the sport tuned suspension would make it improved. I'll have to check again.

Out of curiosity, what is the shock/spring combo recommendaiton for those without CCD?

Definitely check your window sticker. Also, hows your tire pressure looking?

I have HD tow on mine. No CCD.
The stock General tires rode terrible. New Defender LTX MS are much better.
Stock ride is a bit firm, rides more like a 3/4t truck than a crossover. I realize this is neither. Just a comparison.
With weight in it, rides much smoother.

I have CCD on my 2022 SPP and my ride doesn't feel much different than my 2019 Limited Stealth. Although the stock tires on the 2022 are much better in wet traction especially around turns and bends. The ass would slide out on my 2019 even with the slightest turn.

I have xlt base with HD tow package with 20 inch hankooks and the ride is terrible with recommended tire pressure of 39 psi. It is very rigid and the rear end tends to hop over bumps when empty. I run 34 to 35 tire pressure and it helps some. fully loaded and with some tongue weight the ride is OK... Michigan roads contribute to the problem......

Nevermind. I thought for 22, the ride on the base suspension would've been improved. A lot of people who didn't get the ccd liked the ride even with the 22in wheels, but I guess it's expectations.

After my 18, which had the base springs, I've always recommended ccd if possible, and the main reason is adjustability. Fords always erred on the side of too firm with the expy to give it its tow rating, and though mostly comfy, the vase ride could get brittle out of nowhere. If anything, the ccd helps with this byz giving you adjustability,l. You can change the ride on the fly, and even then, by swapping your tires, give you a different ride as well, moreso than the base springs.

We have a '22 SPP Expedition. HD Tow Package. No CCD. It's my wife's rig, so when I'm in it, I'm usually the driver or the front seat passenger. The ride can be pretty harsh on not-great pavement. Recently, I was the last guy in for the church drive...so I sat it the third row. Had an open half mug of coffee. Literally spilled it on my lap after she took a pothole or two. I asked the kids who rode in the third row if it was always like this...and they were like, yep its bumpy at times. I'm going to add a bit more air to the tires, but now I'm wondering if I made a big mistake not getting the CCD. I expected better even with a sport tuned suspension that it maybe handled better...but that the shocks were more cushioning.

Turns out I'm without CCD after all. Called my fleet rep who made the order and admitted he forgot to add it in my build but that's on me for not double checking.

So, going from CCD to not, I do really prefer CCD. I'm not going to bother trading this one in for awhile so what are my options to make this improved? What shock and spring options are out there? Surely guys have made improvements for this issue.

The 22 inch wheels certainly won't help with ride quality. Too bad you can't option a 20 inch for the Stealth Performance Package.

I'm in a similar boat, I too would like more subtle ride, as this suspension isn't as forgiving. An air-ride option or aftermarket would likely help a lot. I'm happy with mine, but an 80's Cadillac this thing is not.
I also realize these are body on frame vehicles. So anyone coming from a crossover (myself included, I have owned several) the ride is more "truck" like and less "car". On long stretches of nice road these things are comfortable, however they are more ridged around town and over bumps.
More side-wall on the tires might help (so 18-20" wheels vs 22's) softer suspension setup, better sway bars, etc. might all help.

Plus about owning a expy with base suspension, I knew ahead of time, go for one with ccd. The nav I have rides much better than the expy did, though it doesn't handle as well.

I agree. My 304A CCD rides and handles better than my 2017 Limited with standard suspension. My wife, who hates anything that isn't car-based, even complimented the ride.
