2014 Navigator - 80K miles - Upon starting, pushing brake pedal, shifter button won't depress while squeezing. I takes from a minute to up to 10 minutes to engage button. Any ideas what this is or how to fix?

I now have a problem with my Wife's 2014 Expedition. Upon starting, pushing the brake pedal, the shifter button won't depress while squeezing.
Brake Lights DO NOT come on . . . of course, I cannot move the vehicle and the dealer is over 10 miles away.
Although I do not see the mechanical plunger switch on the pedal assembly, I need to try to fix this to get the vehicle moving. Is this something that I can cure or at least override until I get it to be repaired? Suggestion!
