Stereo upgrade keeping stock Head unit

I think I was talking about changing out the front door speakers. Their shrilly not smooth sounding, and no I never did. Amazingly the passenger speakers are smooth as can be. The other problem is the subwoofer amp. It lost it low frequency crossover capability a few months back. When working right a mono sub amp should not put out above 60 hz. This one puts out way above 100 hz, but I can't change anything right now. Got too much more important things to worry about.
