I'm in your same boat... like stereos but never want to dump a lot of money... my favorites have been Infinity Reference 10s.... Rockford fosgate Punch stage 1 and 2 and currently have a set of 10" Sony Xplodes with a SoundStorm Amp... look at crutchfield when they have sales or ebay or were I got my current set Walmart... nice clear bass but a lot of money still in the wallet...

I went to the junkyard and pulled the factory sub box from a Mach equipped Expy, making sure to leave the blown sub in. I got it for free.:) Then I pulled speaker out & replaced it with a Rockford Fosgate 8" speaker & a Memphis 16t-st500 amp that I had laying around. When the panel is in place you can't even tell it's there. I wanted a sub & didn't want to lose any room so I came up with this. It doesn't hit as hard as a pair of 10's or 12's but it does add some punch to my music. Here's a link to a pic, can't get it to show up for some reason.

You can also buy a "thunderform" box that has the sub and amp. It fits in the net storage compartment.

1) Put in a factory assembly or
2) Get an aftermarket one (like mtx thunderform, jl stealthbox, etc) or
3) Custom make your own (like I did w/fiberglass and mdf)

Then you can fit one 8" or 10" sub. Just need to be aware of depth of the sub and airspace needs.

After that, its just a matter of finding a place to hide the amp.

Any other boxes will either go under the 2nd row seats or in the third row area.

Another possibility would be to make an enclosure where the center console is. I know some of the F150 guys go this route...

Edit: If you are going with a single 8" or 10" in one of these small sealed enclosures you might be disappointed with the results...especially if you are comparing it to your friends' set ups (which probably have multiple subs, larger subs, more airspace, more power, etc)
