Not INSTALLATION, Insulation.

My rear window vibrates pretty hard. It opens fine and closes fine, but it vibrates when I drive.

What did yall with woofers in these guys do to stop the rear window from vibrating, or do you just let it vibrate? It vibrates with my stock sound with swapped door speakers, so I cant imagine how bad it is with a sub.

My first question is do you really own 12 cars? DMV probably sends a Christmas card! I have a stock mach stereo in my 2000 expy with the stock 8 inch woofer and I've never had a window shake. Are you running extra power. First thing make sure rear wing windows are tight fitting and the frames aren't loose or bad. That goes for all 4 other windows. If your going to run a sub box with amp, make sure it's lined well. I used to use r19 insulation. Box to be made of particle board, it's cheapest and sounds best. You can line inside 8 inch woofer cavity on passenger rear with dynamat or equivalent. To really deaden and deepen bass, do all four doors as well. If your going big bass like dual 12 inch to god help us dual 18's, you'll have to dynamat under carpet and ceiling. Will get pricey, but the bonus is your SUV will be like a vault inside when you drive. Start with the basics and improve 1 step at a time. It's cheaper and you can stop when your satisfied. Hope that helps.

Driveway and graveyard. The Caravan and the jeep are in my possession, neither currently moves. I am about to buy another Jeep too. Only the Kia, the Expy, and my scooter work. In Colorado its cheap to plate vehicles, I pay around 300 a year for registration and insurance on anything pre 2000. The list is all the cars I have killed in my life.

I have only swapped the door speakers for Pioneer 4 ways, but 6x8 like the others. Its a base model, so nothing special. Its just the glass in the rear door. Its one of those opening windows, so I always wonder about that.

I was (I guess am, but not professionally) and audio installer. Usually its just vibrations, and this sounds like it, but it could be my window, and thats why I ask about subs in the Expy. Maybe I need to check my gas lifters or the clasp, and its just bouncing around.

It must be cause I have same SUV and mine doesn't shake. Sounds like you need to pull panel off back door. Something has got to be loose or broken in there. Why not put back door down and see if it goes away.

I have 2- 12 inch kicker L7's with a 1200 watt kicker amp and all kicker 4x8 door speakers...I don't have any insulation in yet, since I'm working on another headache...but my back window does not shake at all. And I blast my speakers lol.

Two chrysler products that are dead! Good thing I've loved about my Ford's is even when they go wonky on you, you can usually limp them home! At least that was true of my 5.0 motors. 5.4 might be a different beast!

u cant stop the rear glass from rattling...unless u tape it down...no way around that one...only thing u can do is not put power to the sub...I have an 18 inch sub in mine and cant hear it rattling...even if I do when outside the window...it's the result of banging the sub...that's part of being a basshead...only thing u can do is add deadener to the tailgate...

My Jeep is a Heep, its my parts jeep. I sold the working one, and am in the process of getting another. It was a 2 door, now I have kids. So I bought the Caravan (to have seats) for 1000 bucks with 164K on it, and put about 24K on it before the trans died. I have been happy with my jeeps.

I think that its the window. It holds shut - but thats the clasp, I think its the gas lifters.

You could always have the kids lean against glass! That would stop the rattle! Ha ha. I used to work as a service dispatcher at Dodge in Redwood City, Ca years back. I had two mechanics every day rebuilding caravan transmissions. If it's the original with that many miles, you did good. Customers never service the trans when they should, kills em every time !

If you think it's the lifters making racket, pull them off!

I think they need to apply tention to keep the window from rattling. They can fall down with the glass open sometimes, so I think they probably are not tight enough.

My brother lives off Embarcadero in Redwood City. He went to Stanford.

If you dont mind me asking... Is the trans worth replacing? I can junk the car for $300, but if I can make it run, is it worth the effort? When I got my expy it made the minivan moot, but my parents borrow my car alot, and they hate the height of the expy. Is it worth another trans, do you think a $600 rebuilt trans would give me another 100K, 80K 60K?
