swapping a motor from a 04 expy to a 03

i have a dead cylinder on my 03 expy, and have found a cheap 04 expy with a brand new create engine installed on it 30 k miles ago. the tranny is going out on the 04 so they are wanting to get rid of it. my 03 is in alot better condition over all otherwise i would probably just swap out trannys. will these engines be interchangeable? or would i be better of just swapping around the trannys?

Yes, 2003 and 2004 still used the 2 valve motors, assuming your a is a 5.4? Trans should be the same too, the 6 speed didn't come until 2005??

yes they are both the 5.4
