anyone know of any offroad style tail light guards for a gen 4 ? I've discovered my trailer can contact the tail lights in a sharp U turn, and I've read those LED tail lights are like $1500+ to replace, so some corner protection would be smart.

Even for my 011, I could not find any either..... it was one of the 1st things I wanted to add after buying it, but I only wanted them for the look, not because I tow a trailer....

Not really sure how you would make some? without it being a flimsy plastic style cover that uses double sided tape, there are no gaps along the front/rear/side of these that would allow for flat steel or something to be mounted. Not to mention, the entire housing is so flimsy, unless a protective cover was mounted to anything but the housing, it would surely cause the housing to break with any impact.

For some other vehicles, I have seen some fairly heavy duty ones that are screwed directly into the sheet metal, along the outer edge of the light housing, similar to some aftermarket fender flares, but I would only be willing to do that IFI used my expy for trailer towing and/or off roading, which I don't, so that's a big no for me anyways

check this thread to get an idea of what I was looking for, but the ones pictured seem to just have metal tabs that slip in between the sheet metal & the housing...:)
