The heater not working but AC is working when switched from the heater to cooling in the 2000 Eddie Bauer Expedition 4x6

Hi All,

I have a Ford Expedition 2000 Eddie Bauer and its AC is working perfectly fine but when I switched to the heater and increased the temperature on the vent, very mild hot air comes first then no hot air. Is this related to the fuse or the actual Blend Motor actuator problem? If it is related to the fuse then what fuse number and what location in the box? Please suggest as I don't want to end up with expensive try out's?

More than likely the heater core is getting clogged up on the inside.
You could flush it but you take a chance on springing a leak.
Changing out the heater core is a major undertaking.

Thanks a lot. I will look into how to flush the heater core for Ford Expedition 2000.

So do you not recommending a flush? It caused leak. What is the best place to get this done to be on the safe side as not to cause leak?

And there is the problem. When you flush you have a huge chance of a leak.
Especially if it has never been changed.

You can do the flush and if you get a leak then you would have to bypass the heater core.
But you would have no heat, no defrost at all.
At least you have some heat now...

I would confirm the actuator door first..
If you have a plugged core, your outlet hose will be less hot… If they are both about the same temp, hot, then you’re probably fine

Is the heat in back ok? EB has 2 sets of controls right?

Heater core or blend door both are dash off jobs. Replace them both at the same time. Removing the dash is tedious but not super hard for your car.
