ok just bought a 97 eddie bauer expedition 5.4 with high miles 215k but for a good price or so I thought. Bought for $1500, blue color that I dont see around here but already saw someone on here with it.

Got home 4wd didnt work took to ford cause i dont know anything about 4wd systems they said it needed a vacuum actuator and the shift lever it shifts quote of 700 bucks yeah right lol got the actuator for $90 from advance auto lever from ford for 45 but realized all it needed was a roll pin $2 bucks still didnt work ????? looking here found out there is a $20 4wd vaccum piece on fire wall yep wasnt putting vacuum through it now 4wd works. lesson never going to ford again all it really needed was that 20 dollar part.

i take it to them to find out the prob...but verify and see what others think here...if everything is the same...then i'll search for cheaper parts and see if i can do it myslef...case in point...starting issues like others on site...ME...MYSLEF...and I...changed the alternator...cuz it died...battery checking good...eveyone is having the same issue...fuel pump...take it to ford...simply told them its having probs starting...them "verified" what was said here...fuel pump...so i paid $300 for fuel pump off ebay...tank of gas to maryland...linked up with thermo...no more starting probs...saved me $550...

yup... love this place... cheaper than ford for repairs... but mod ideas can become $$$costly$$...lol

I can see where taking it to ford just to verify makes since but other then that they wont see my truck again.

And yes I've been looking at mods if only I had more money
