Just installed the Monroe coilspring conversion kit and now my theft light comes on and the motor won't start. It's a 2001 Eddie Bauer with the 5.4L.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi There,
i have the same Problem.
After Disconnect the battery and any fuses (to check)
When i turn the key to ON, the theft symbol flashed...at the first 20-30 sec. very fast, after this code 1 6 for ca. 10 minutes...after this time the Theft light is off. But, the engine doesn`t start. :( ...
What can i do ? There are any informations in the www, but which one is correct ?
Before i disconnect the battery, the car works with any problems...

2nd question to my radio...in the display is the earphone symbol, the speakers doesn`t work. How i can delete the earphone symbol ? I think, after this i can hear the music :)
I know, in the rear is the 2nd radio panel with the earpohne button. The button works (loudness on and off) but the earphone symbol is on ....hmmm...

THX for help and greetings from germany ....sry for my words ;)

No Ideas ? I reading any informations th this problem, this are my steps:

- disconnect the battery for 2h
- connect the battery
- open the door with the key
- key turn in the ignition position - wait ca. 30 min.
- key turn on start
...no changes :-( ...it`s the same...the red blinking theft light.

The pats (passive anti theft system) is obviously keeping it from starting. The question is why?? The key(s) have a transponder in them which the pats system recognize and allow the vehicle to start. If none of your keys work I believe the only solution is to have it reprogrammed by the dealer?! Try to do a search on PATS.

Hopefully if someone has another solution they will post.....

Like Tom said, definitely sounds like a PATS issue. Did you have any power surges or shorts when removing any of the air suspension, or when unhooking/rehooking the battery up? That could have fried the PATS. Just a guess on my part though. Question, did you unhook the battery when doing the conversion?
