Theft light flashing

so I was driving and hit a pothole with my front left tire. expedition turned off right when I hit the hole. now it wont restart and theft light flashing. the mechanic says it might need a new key because the other one is worn but it doesn't make sense because why would it turn off when I hit a pothole.if anyone knows anything please let me know I don't have a lot of money to spend then if it doesn't need a new keyI'd rather not spend the money if I don't have to. but I need my vehicle.

One more thing

also want you on lock ignition with key I'm able to remove the key out of the ignition and still start the truck which doesn't make sense

Welcome to the site. The issue you are having is PATS (passive anti theft system) related. Best thing to do is a google search on "ford pats" and get the operating principals of the system. Once you have that then you will know the logic on how it works and where to start the t/s on.
