This seem like a fair price

I took my 2004 Expi in for tune up, mount new tires, and fuel smell.

They just called and said both front lower control arms need replacing, they will change plugs and boots (not COPs-said it doesn't need it unless it is misfiring or CEL), drop tank and fix seals (hopefully to cure fuel leak), align, brake fluid flush, and change pcv valve.

Total estimate is $1600. This sound fair?

control arms are about $600...prob just need ball joints and may be cheaper to change the entire arm...ask about the lower arm to see if its the ball joint...the upper u have to do the entire arm...sounds bout right for dealership...ask for discount

Thanks for the quick reply. I think he said lower control arms but later called them lower ball joints. I am trying to barter with him on doing some AV or security system work for them (that's what I design for a living) to try and lower the cost to me.

I have a slight whine from 35-45 but he said all wheel bearings are fine. He will try and diagnose during an additional test drive. This is an independent shop.
