The front grille emblem on my 2022 Expedition Limited cracked/shattered from road debris. I have the OEM replacement emblem, but i'm not entirely sure how it's attached. I'm hoping it's just adhesive, but from looking at front emblem videos for similar Fords, it looks like you have to remove the grille in order to remove retention hex nuts on the back? Can anybody confirm?

I'd like to avoid having to remove the front grille if at all possible, so any helpful tips on how to accomplish this with minimal effort would be greatly appreciated!

I had to replace the little camera washer on my 2019. Hate to tell you, but you are likely going to have to bite the bullet and set aside an afternoon of searching out fasteners because not just the whole grill has to come off but the entire front end. There's some factory service manuals around here for download. I used that to find the instructions. While it was a pain in the butt trying to find all the hidden fasteners, it wasn't so much trouble actually doing all the work. Once I had it off and had done the replacement, putting it all back on went pretty smoothly and quickly since I knew where everything was. It's not difficult and you don't really need any special tools, it's just tedious.

If I were here, you would know it !
Unfortunately, Gixxer is right about having to remove practically the entire front end trim just to get at the 3 or 4 little studs & lock nuts that hold the emblem on :(

Or alternatively, you could use a thin hacksaw or other type of sharp fine cutting blade to get between the emblem & the mounting posts to cut through them, then use auto-grade double stick tape or adhesive to attach the new one....

There are four bolts on each side holding the bumper cover on the 2023. The manual only calls out three... Protect the corners of it with tape when you lay it down. Afternoon's job, as Gixxer says. Wait until the weather's nice.

Its really not too bad of a job. I wanted to replace mine with a black Ford logo. I watched a dude on YouTube to it and (although he was very entertaining to watch) it wanst really that involved. I was unscrewing bolts in the fender well and up in the bumper. At the end of it all, I realized it was really just a few bolts to get the grill off. Good luck!

Just got it knocked out today. Annoying, time-consuming, but ultimately not that difficult.

Buying the comprehensive service manual certainly helped a lot in not having to figure out how to take things apart on my own.

That's pretty much how it goes. Good news is, if you ever have to do it again, which you likely won't, you'll be able to knock it out pretty quickly.
