Hello everyone.

I just picked up a 98 Expo XLT. If I put a larger tires on it, do I need to calibrate the speedometer? I know it will be off slightly. However, what I’m concerned about is the abs braking system, and shift points on the transmission.

I plan on putting 285/75R16 BFG’s on it.

I'd recalibrate it. The speedometer and odometer will be off.

Recalibrate. I would, anyway. Or, drive by the stationary speed checks and see how much off you are. If only a couple of MPH, I would not bother.

Hey! I think those are about 33", it should be pretty OK for normal driving if you have factory 3.73 gears. If you've got taller gears, it'll suffer more. I know mine struggled with 34's with the 3.73s.
