DW's 2013 KR finally is approaching 50k miles and her tires show it. In looking for replacements I noticed that 17 inch were shown as stock but hers came with 18s. They may have been an option I forgot about.

Does anyone see a downside to replacing them with 17s where choices are greater and less expensive?

The added cost of buying new 17” wheels since you already have 18” wheels.

Where are you seeing 17's as stock for a '13 King Ranch? XLT's yes.

The stock KR wheel was a 18 in machined aluminum finish. Six spokes, each kind of like the letter U.

Two different 20's were optional for KR - a chrome (clad) aluminum that was very common on various F150. It has 6 strait spokes and around the outside are 6 open windows.

The second optional 20 was a painted aluminum that had a very slight bronze hue, almost looked like brake dust. This second wheel also has 6 spokes but more like the letter V.

Live and learn. I just searched tire companies for sizes. Didn't see 18s. But new rims are not happening.

My Limited had LT275/65R18 Michelin LTX M/S tires and they still had usable tread at 110k miles. Smooth riding, best tire I have ever had.

You might be able to find a cheap set of wheels on Facebook or Craigslist. I switched from 20" wheels to 17" and can tell a difference with more rubber in the sidewall.

The KR often came with oversized rims not listed as stock equipment. My 2014 KR came with 20” rims. Walmart online has the best price I’ve seen on tires. Stick with rim size it came with because the computer is programmed for the calibration of the speedometer for that size and it will save getting it reprogrammed.

Scott, yes, so far WM has the best price on the Michelins I'll probably be buying.
