I noticed I am getting some wearing on the outside of the front tires. I saw somewhere in the forum others noticed this as well. I have less than 20k on my 2018 now but I noticed the tires were wearing bad from factory because at the 8k mile mark I noticed it. Is this just normal behavior or will an alignment correct it?

With that said where do you all get alignments done? Dealer? Firestone?

Thanks

I think an alignment is a great place to start. Knowing you have a dialed in alignment of all four wheels is not that expensive and worth it long term. I used a dealer but I know them and it worked out great. I got a nice printout of before and after. My 2014 tires wear evenly. Not a big fan of Firestone but it depends on the actual shop involved. I've also used a local guy who runs a one man shop and does nothing (just about) other than brakes & alignment.

Starting at recommended settings, if an additional 2 psi in cold front tires does not level the wear pattern, for the way I drive, then I add 1 degree of negative camber to the front tires. Previously, on my 2010 Limited EL, I had perfect lever wear patterns on the front at 40PSI after adding 1degree of negative camber. Any good, reputable tire shop can do the same. Adding 1 degree of negative camber is still with Ford's acceptable spec range.

I’m at 15k and likely visiting my local go to alignments only guru. Many new cars are not really setup right from the factory.

Mercedes is one of the worst and it’s apparently a well known thing. The SLK I picked up with 13k all 4 tires were wearing totally different. Took it to a performance shop and learned its a well known thing with Mercedes.
So no surprise if my Ford needs a tweak from the local Guru.
