Tires

Came across 4 brand new Michelin LTX 245 70 R17 LTX tires for free. Are these ok to use on my Expedition. Anyone used these?

Free?! New?! Nice! They're nice tires. If I'm not mistaken, that size is smaller than stock. Which isn't always the best idea. If they're 10 ply (Load Range E), I suppose you could. That way, you'd at least exceed the stock load carrying capacity. Nowadays, a lot of major tire joints won't install the tire of it's too small for a vehicle. If you're OE size is indeed larger than these LTX's....Maybe trade up or sell them to get into the right size?

They are load E. They are not as wide as what is on it now.

You probably have a 265/70R17 on there now. Personally, I wouldn't feel comfy or like the look of a smaller tire on my Ex. I'd try to trade or sell 'em.

Safety wise, will should I use them? Thanks for the input.
