I'm looking at a friends 2001 Audi A4 1.8T. It's in very good condition with 56k miles on it, sunroof, premium stereo, leather, etc. One of the great things is its a 4 cylinder with A LOT of potential for mods because its a turbo engine. I plan on taking it to about 350-400 horsepower over time. Now for the hard part. Should I sell the Expedition, get the car and slap on all the mods with the money I get; keep both vehicles and not afford much for either; or don't buy the Audi, and get a few big mods for the Expedition? It's too tough for me, since I LOVE my Expedition, it's been great to me, and I've already put so much into it. The Audi would get better gas mileage, and may be more fun to drive considering its a car, and of course its very easy to modify. And having both vehicles would be great too because...well then I'll have two vehicles. The bad thing is I don't have enough space in the garage for both. Oh yeah, my friend is selling the Audi for $9,500. KBB value is $13,000. Suggestions?

You are talking to us. As someone else has said. If we cared about gas mileage, we'd buy a damn Prius.

I'd personally stick with the Expo. A4's are a total chick cars. Real men drive big trucks/suvs. Leave the little ricer cars.

I'm kinda in your position, but instead I'm looking at a 04 excursion 6L. aiming for about 375 horse and almost 700lbs of torque in mods. I've put so much into my expy, but 4.6 is shit, even modded. Plus milage and super smokeability of small cars makes excursions my wet dream.

Nice grille guard, I've got the same on my 99 4.6.

I figure I'll do less external to the excursion and to compensate for the hard spending under the hood. Besides, nobody knows shit about diesels and the potential here in Toronto, I'd love to smoke some ricers.

It's hard to part with a heavily modified vehicle, just make sure you find a good home for Her....

Tell me about It...... I wish they would have put the 6 cylinder powerstroke in the Expedition..... Look me up when you want to mod the diesel. I do that stuff too, actually more so than the gasoline trucks..... We will be racing in the DHRA event with a 01 powerstroke in october if we get the transmission issue fixed. We should be putting down close to 500HP at the wheels before the nitrous.....

I've taken your opinions into consideration, and I've thought about every pro and con I can think of, and the Expedition comes out on top.
