question for you sol and any other officer who wants to chime in. if i get pulled over i always roll down front windows and place hands on steering wheel. question is can an officer legally tell you to roll up your front windows to see if you have them tinted?

Yes they can ask you, but that doesn't mean you have to comply. It probably won't be very pretty after you politely tell the LEO that "your fuse is blown".


I know that the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end when I had a person with blacked out windows and the windows stayed up but I could still see shadows moving inside the vehicle.

It really is an officer safety issue but as long as you roll your windows down etc... you know the drill. It might have been those ghetto chrome rims

Yeah I always lower all of them place my hands on the wheel and stick my head out lol.

another question for officers. do your for lack of a better term plain cars give tickets? about 6 yrs ago i had a grey taurus with flashing headlights no decals and the officer had a screen printed shirt on, pull me over for speeding. said he chased me for 5 miles. i didn't think he was an officer until a few minutes later when 3 cruisers showed up. in construction most of our work trucks have the strobe lights in the headlights for safety issues at night and thats y i didn't think he was an officer. could he have given me more shit since he said he chased me for 5 miles? sidenote when i got ticket i asked the lady at courthouse she they did it all the time. but somehow my ticket amount was reduced by $100.

yup do the same thing..except dont stick anything out the window.... also turn on my dome light.... when I was a SF(MP) in the air force I worked with a lot of reservists that were also NYPD and thats what they told me to do to help get out of tickets.... working so far...lol

the only tickets i get are speeding. 1st one the cop didnt show up. the 2nd i was doing 91. i said screw it and im paying it. not a bad deal. got it about a year ago. still got to do the classes though. o well. city can kiss my ass. they only get $50 a month from my ass! haha i always get parking tickets too! bastards! but i got pulled over for some off road lights i had in the grill before. they had a blue led and a strobe. they said i was impersonating an officer! but then they had the balls to ask why i have the lights. and i told them. i off road and i need the extra lights. they said in a dick tone, you dont off road in this! i said yes i do! i go to the desert and go on some local trails. they laughed. like **** you guys i know what i do and dont do. at the time she was muddy so idk what they were talking about! what ever. got out of it. they took down my name address licence plate number licence number and phone number. i broke the switch for the lights about a month later. never had them on again. what ever. i miss those lights though.

would a cop pullover a brother in arms and give a ticket for tint? i think not...but they'll ticket us service members and give us a ticket!!! OHIO trooper pulled me over for following to close on another car cuz i had to slam on my brakes cuz they didnt see him in the median...ok...if you say so...so he sees my military ID...says i'm trying to catch a break by making him see it...my ID sits on top of my license...or i cant get my license...duh...but i was cool...so he's yelling then gives me a warning saying he did 2 tours in iraq and next time this wont fly...blah..blah...blah...

but they wont ticket another for speeding/tint/lights/ect...i dont believe it...

So you didnt get a ticket, and the rant is for? FYI I got a warning from a Trooper 2 years ago for my tint. But yeah I like the RPD light bar too.
