I'm assuming it's the torsion bar.

I just got a sweet deal on a 99 Expedition that I was looking to make my backup work truck. Unfortunately while I was bringing it back to the house a bar snapped (closest to the driver side.) I can't get under it where it is right now because the air bags are shot and need to be replaced (swithcing to coils) too so the truck is sitting too low to get a jack under it in a good spot. Also the battery is dead so can't move it to where I might get some leverage, not that I want to try that with the bar snapped. I can remove the running boards and all that but I just want to ID this bar. I keep getting different bars when I do a torsion bar search online. Trying to ID the bar so I can get a replacement.

Thanks

The first and third pic in the link are the torsion bar and key.

After going to the scrap yard today, it's definitely the torsion bar that's busted.

They had several older ones with the torsion bars still in but they were being held up by the bar so couldn't get at them. They don't let you bring jacks in there.

They had an 03 Expo there with some new looking suspension parts...was tempting to pull them out.

I pulled mine out when I installed my suspension lift. They are not fun to remove. You need some penetrating oil and a big hammer as they are most likely rusted in place.

Didn't realize how long it's been. I never got around to doing the bar because work and whatever. With the bar I should be sliding both parts towards the center right? (It's broken so figure that would be easiest)

Tires are rusted to the hubs so have to deal with that. Switching to coils. Random other things but that bar is the first issue.
