Hello, my 05 Expy is back at it. Right after I replaced the tranny cooling lines!
The message displayed says Tire Pressure Monitor System fault (or something to that affect), and the tire icon flashes 18 times before it stops, or I cancel it out. Any way of determining which tire sensor is at fault, since mine only says theres a fault?

Most of the higher end code readers can read TPMS data. If you want one for your phone apps "OBD Fusion" is a good one. The flashing TPMS light most likely is one or more of the tire mounted sensors is not communicating with the TPMS module. This generally happens when the sensor's internal battery has been depleted and the sensor just needs to be replaced the next time you have the tire off the rim.

The TPMS batteries only last about 10 years... sometimes a bit less, sometimes a bit more. If one has failed you may as well have all four replaced -- the other three are sure to go out soon. I waited until I needed tire to have all four of mine replaced.

Thanks for all the info, everyone. A few years back, I had new tires put on, and the dudes at Belle Tire said one or two of them were bad, as they could not get the cores out with out destroying the sensors. I'm going to have to go back and look at my receipt to see how many were replaced. As far as the life of the battery, if thats the case, and the oem sensors have failed due to battery, they would have lasted 15 years!

I finally had a chance to put my code reader (Centech, not sure of model at this moment), and of course, it would not detect a code associated with this. Its not concerning me too much. The error message only comes on every time it is started.
