Just bought my 08 limited EL last week and the tires need to be replaced soon so gonna get new wheels as well probably 24's and was wondering how do i tell if mine has the sensors. All other vehicles i had in the past that had the sensors they all had some type of metal valve stem not the rubber one. My truck has the rubber stems so wasnt sure if i had the sensors or not. If so will buy the sensors along with the new wheels instead of using the factory ones.

you should see the tire light up every time u start ur engine...all the indicators light up...if u don't see it...u don't have it...the website to put ur VIN in is the easiest way

take a wheel off place it away from the truck and start it...if the indicator comes on...u have it...no indicator...u don't...I took my sensors and installed them in 24s...and now im my 26s...so they will work...if new rims are mounted...shops will charge you to break both down to remove from old...install in new...I would suggest buying them with the sensors installed...should come out cheaper

I would be very surprised if your 08 doesn't have sensors. My 07 has the band type sensors.

I thought they changed to the valve type in 08 or 09 but I would be very surprised if you don't have them.

I just installed the limited edition 22's on my 07 Limited Expedition. My Expi came with Banded sensors, and i purchased Valve stem sensors from Discount Tire. $60 each. A bit expensive, but very reliable and more common now a days. They didn't have the bands to use on my old sensors, which is why i purchased the valve stem ones. Your Expi will also have the Banded sensors and you can upgrade to the valve stem sensors, as long as they have the same frequency as your old ones (315mhz). Make sure to check that they install the correct ones. Otherwise, the TPMS light in your dash will never turn off.
