My 00 4.6 L is feeling funny lately. On the up shifts if feels fine but on the downshifts coming to a stop it is banging hard but not all the time and lets say u are coasting at 5 or 10 MPH it also feels like some sort of banging. I can't seem to tell if it is coming from the tranny or the rear end or what. I'm about to take it to a tranny please to have it checked out but I just thought if anyone ever had a similar problem. I just bought the truck and it has 170k so I have no idea if the last owners had any maintance done witch I doubt there is also no cel. Ive also heard that if the tranny fluids where never changed that they should not be changed as it would cause more problems. Any advice or expertise will be appreciated thanks
