Long story short, my 2000 expy does not have a tranny cooler, and I would like to add one. Never installed one of these so I'm looking for some expertise on what size and type to use that I can buy new at any local auto parts store as a kit. I dont do any heavy hauling, but I do tow my boat quite often in the summer heat so I'm just looking for some extra protection.

I have a tranny cooler off a car I had bought on my expy. It was a 86 Mustang. I believe it is a procomp brand (I know a chinaman brand) with a fan on it. Works ********. Here is a link to the cooler. For the record I have AN fittings connecting mine that the previous owner had. I also have the fan connected to a switch inside the truck that I flip on in traffic, towing, or city driving.

Basically, you want to go from the trans line that comes out of the radiator, in to the cooler and then out of the cooler, back to the trans. They are really quite easy to plumb.

As for size, the bigger the better.
